Lorenzo Bull House Porch

In 2018 a planning meeting was organized by Maggie Strong to bring together several groups to foster the Women’s City Club mission and the Quincy Park Districts administration of the Lorenzo Bull Park at 1550 Maine. Out of the meeting came a collaboration of people forming a new steering organization to help with preserving, promoting, enhancing and utilization of the property.

The newly formed Friends of the Lorenzo Bull House nonprofit and governing board was established in April 2020. This organization is raising funds and gathering members to assist in enhancing and restoring the property for continued community use. Plans include tours and educational events, restoration and furnishing of the house. Replacing a fountain and gardens that once adorned the property and making it more community friendly is an integral part of the plans.

The history of the Bull family and it’s significance in Quincy is vast and important to be preserved.
